“I never teach my pupils; I only provide conditions in which they can learn.”
- Albert Einstein
Educating Children in General and Judaic Studies for 50+ years.
Albert Einstein Academy started 50 years ago when a group of dedicated visionaries in Delaware recognized the need and importance of providing an education to Jewish students that integrated Judaic and general studies into an academically excellent curriculum. Albert Einstein Academy officially opened November 11th, 1969
Our Mission
Albert Einstein Academy educates students with a challenging, integrated curriculum of general and Judaic studies in a nurturing environment that fosters inquisitive learners, critical thinkers, and dynamic leaders.
Providing a Foundation for Future Success.
At Albert Einstein Academy (AEA) in Wilmington, Delaware, we provide a rigorous and engaging academic experience from transitional kindergarten through fifth grade. In all of our courses, we teach academic content as well as lifelong skills and values that will enable our students to excel no matter what they pursue.
Our passionate, dedicated teachers ensure that students are challenged by the course material and take pride in creating an environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. With a 3:1 student-teacher ratio, our faculty is able to spend quality one-on-one time with each student, guiding them to become independent learners. Not only do we offer personalized instruction in nurturing classes, but our students also participate in mixed-age cohorts for subjects where that combination is more beneficial for their development.

ACADEMICS AT EINSTEIN: LEARN. THINK. LEAD.
ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS
Albert Einstein Academy is proud to use literacy instruction that is grounded in research and that includes explicit instruction in foundational literacy skills such as phonics and phonemic awareness.
Through their reading, students gain exposure to a variety of genres and deepen their understanding of the world around them. In their writing, students practice synthesizing ideas using evidence from a variety of texts as well as their own thoughts.
At Einstein, we recognize that no two students learn the same way or progress at the same pace. Because of this, our teachers differentiate instruction to meet each student’s needs and to communicate with families about their student’s individual progress.
MATHEMATICS
Our math curriculum uses an intentional progression to instill a deep understanding of concepts. We teach students a mix of concrete, pictorial, and abstract approaches. With this method, students don’t use rote memorization to solve equations, but become true mathematical thinkers who use their vast depth of knowledge to approach problems. While this prepares students to excel in more advanced math, it also helps them become more successful problem solvers in all areas of their lives.
SCIENCE
Our science classes unlock students’ natural curiosity and passion with a focus on hands-on learning. Lessons encourage students to connect with their prior knowledge and provide immersive experiences to help guide them through complex scientific principles in accessible ways. Students explore concepts independently and collaboratively and reflect on their learning so that they build a solid scientific foundation. Topics include energy, waves, matter, space, earth’s systems, ecosystems, plants and animals, and more.
SOCIAL STUDIES
In our social studies classes, we explore humanity and various cultures in relation to the past, present, future, environment, and society. These topics encourage students to develop an appreciation for and understanding of our rapidly-changing world. They become more aware of their personal and cultural identities and learn about their roles in the classroom, school, community, and world.
HEBREW LANGUAGE
Albert Einstein Academy is committed to developing the whole child. Our dual language program serves as a crucial vehicle in that development. With instruction in both English and Hebrew, students experience the proven benefits of learning to speak more than one language at a young age.
Research shows that students in dual-language programs not only achieve at levels that are similar to or higher than those of their peers enrolled in other programs on standardized tests of reading and math in English, but they also are able to read and write at grade level in another language. This in turn positively affects general academic performance. (Lindholm-Leary, 2001; Thomas & Collier, 2002)
STEM
Students are immersed in hands-on activities, projects, and problems that build upon each other and relate to the real world. They experience integrated learning that blends computer science, engineering, biomedical science, and more. Throughout the modules, our students apply math and English Language Arts skills, learn science to standards, and adopt skills that are foundational across disciplines.

PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a "learn by doing" approach to education that shifts classroom activity away from teacher-centered instruction to student-centered projects. PBL helps make learning relevant to students by establishing connections to life outside the classroom. Whether it’s a trip to a local farm, or getting a tactile experience out in nature, our students learn how we as human beings interact with our community, our country, and our world.
Connecting lessons to the world outside the classroom teaches essential problem-solving techniques, drastically increasing our students’ abilities to succeed in whatever careers they choose. Key to this is helping students develop a balanced, diverse approach to solving authentic problems both on their own and in a team. They learn to be flexible, adaptable, and to value other approaches and points of view.
