“We simply love the vibrant life our daughter enjoys beyond the classroom at Albert Einstein Academy. She enjoys the drama program and comes alive when her feet hit the stage.”

Drama

Einstein’s drama program is a highly popular after-school activity. Traditionally a holiday-themed play is produced in the fall, and a musical is produced in the spring. The entire school is encouraged to participate as a member of the cast or production crew.

The drama program highlights Einstein’s exceptional success in developing self-confidence and comfort with public speaking among our graduates. It’s not unusual for parents to be stunned as a “shy” child performs on stage as a kindergartner, and then be wowed at the maturity and command the same child demonstrates several years later.

“My child is heard in the classroom, seen on the stage.”

Arts & Creativity

The art program at Albert Einstein Academy is one of the many places where our students are encouraged to express their individuality and creativity. Weekly art instruction is inspired by the annual curriculum theme. The yearly theme provides a fresh template for creative exploration. Students are taught methods of drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, and more. Students have the chance to experiment with a variety of art-making tools including oil and chalk pastel, acrylic paint, watercolors, tempera paint, printmaking instruments, various types of gluing, and paper manipulation. You are invited to come see the student’s artwork at the Curriculum Showcase. Our students also have regular opportunities to express their creativity through other media, such as music and Israeli dance.

Recreation

Situated as part of the 32-acre Siegel JCC campus, the facility provides an auditorium, a gymnasium, and an indoor pool.  The campus includes an outdoor pool, courts for volleyball, soccer, tennis and basketball, and large open fields.  Einstein's facility also includes a private playground for our students.  In addition, we are situated directly adjacent to Brandywine Creek State Park, allowing us to connect with nature on a regular basis.

Physical Education

The Physical Education program at Einstein combines principles from Project Adventure (play hard, play fair, play safe) and the CATCH program (Coordinated Approach to Child Health). This includes learning basic sports skills in soccer, basketball, floor hockey, gymnastics, volleyball, and tennis. As a whole school, we also enjoy using our outdoor campus amenities including the pool, recreational fields, track, and even a gaga pit.

Our Broader Community

Einstein partners closely with many local organizations. For example, we help facilitate the PJ Library program which is an enrichment program for children and their parents.  We also leverage the Better Together grant, which allows both current students and alumni to connect with elders at the Kutz Home and Lodge Lane. Once or twice a year, our students also have an opportunity to chant Torah at a local synagogue. We also bring local partners into our classrooms regularly to enrich the learning, such as "Paws for People."

Beyond the Classroom

Our students enjoy extended multi-day trips to Gettysburg, Washington, DC, and Pearlstone Retreat Center as well as daylong trips around Delaware--including to the Delaware Art Museum and the Kalmar Nyckel.
